If I may be so bold as to elaborate on Pixy's answer.. [I feel like some Greek kid 2,000 years ago saying, "Well, what Plato meant to say was... ;-)] You & your wife can each contribute a Grand Total of $2K per year. If you want, you may further split each $2K contribution however you like between a Roth or a traditional IRA, so long as you don't exceed $2K/year.
