James, Does Putnum have a web-site that you could look at? Why would you want to know how a long-term retirement fund was doing in the middle of the day? I recently left a job where my 403(b) was with a company that only had internal funds (TIAA-CREF) only and I was comfortable with that. On their web-site you could get your accounts value for the the previous close; I could print the pages each day and compare how they were doing, but that got old quickly. If you do not like the fund, just contribute what the company matches. You would earn that much plus whatever the fund earned. This is not a bad thing.

ps It is late and I am rambling - time for bed, I can't even do paragraphs, sigh!
