reports massive lines of new customers trying to convert their Yen deposits at Japanese banks into US Dollar deposits at a non-Japanese bank.
The urgency is to get it done before the end of the month when deposit guarantees become limited. This is all self-fuelling because the Japanese are worried that the above process could exacerbate any pre-existing weaknesses at Japanese banks and hasten the end-game.
Sounds like a classic run.

It's all over ?? - Mmmmmm !!!
Next week or so will be interesting, but the Nikkei looks good it's broken out of it's base& broken the downtrend indicating that its all over. Of cause as always the market leads the economy.Just like stocks bottoms & breakouts from bases happen when most people can still see problems, the opposite to tops were most people see a positive economic future.
In other words bad news when the indices are showing positive signs is buyable.
