I'm researching the very same issue and am twixt/tween Fidelity & Vanguard. Since "cost matters" I'll likely go w/ Vanguard. At 8% return over 15 years, the expense ratio difference on my portfolio value will net me ~$170k w/ Vanguard v. Fido. And, index fund investing typically beats better than 60-75% of the actively managed funds over the long haul.

Best of luck!
