Just a comment as a long term holder of Johnson Controls, it has good consistent growth. I was tempted to sell near $60 this spring but did not. I got 57 shares of JCI as a spinoff from Hoover Universal about 1985 at a cost basis of $753.03. With splits (now 456 shares) and today's price, it is worth $24,906. That is a 3702% gain.

Just a comment in response to a person considering selling his shares. I have found few stocks giving me this consistent a growth record. [Gap, Inc (GPS) was purchased on the same day as the Hoover Universal stock from which I got JCI, and is currently ahead 45,794% from its cost but well down from its peak.]
