Beware~Received a letter today saying JCPenneys was issuing a new rewards credit card to me and to call if I had not received the card. I hadn't received the card and so I called. Even though the letter stated that a card had been sent to me, the "customer service rep" said not everyone that got the letter was getting a card. This sounded strange to me and with all the scams & schemes going on, I asked to have my account closed. Also to have a letter sent to me stating that the account was closed & cleared. The rep could only close the "new" account and check to see if anything was charged to the "new" account. He could not check on or close my present account. Apparently three different companies are involved - the store, then one co. that handles the original card, and then another for the new rewards card. After many calls, I managed to get both accounts closed and am waiting for confirmation letters.

JCPenneys has lost a customer. Someone at JCPenneys made a major goof!
