Welcome to the board... You are doing quite well with your paydown, don't let this obstacle stop you, I am sure you are not the first victim of the old "6-month-review, oh-wait, your-utilization-is-up-so-we-gotta-triple-your-rate" trick.

Chase did this same thing to me not less than 2 weeks ago, even though my balances have decreased (albeit slightly) on all my cards, but my CU came through for me with a signature loan to get both of them to 0. I previously called Chase and told them this would happen, and I was all too ready to go through with it.

However, in my case I have to close one of the Chase cards, since it was for a small business that is no longer operating, but the other personal card I will allow to just reset with no balance and throw it in the freezer with my other cards except one for an emergency since it is my oldest card!
