Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-Ill.) resigned from Congress on Wednesday amid ongoing federal investigations into his campaign finances, ending a more than six-month absence from office that has included multiple stints at the Mayo Clinic to battle what his doctors said was bipolar depression.

It's gotta be tough to be the offspring of a "great" man. Most children return to the norm and aren't so great.

I'm not a big fan of Jessie Jackson I these days, but I admire the pluck and energy that drove him to some remarkable accomplishments.

Sounds like his son got pulled along in his wake and aided by his father's influence and power. He probably exceeded his abilities which may have contributed to his problems.

I suppose everyone, including him, are lucky he didn't wind up a governor or Senator.

Anyway, I hope he gets his life and family back together on an even keel.
