In today's (thursday April 2nd) wall street journal, pg A17 is a half page editorial by James Grant, "The High Cost of Low Interest Rates." Its a good read, don't let the hi-lighted sub-title let you think he's gone nuts.

He also mentions a book, A History of Interest Rates, by Sidney Homer, 4th edition out in 2005, with Richard Sylla as co-author.
