Joe Biden having to say that he's not crazy (might make a good campaign slogan) and misremembering what decade several historical events happened in (and also whether he was in Congress at the time) don't help him. Kamala Harris's "If elected I'll sign a presidential order saying that..." illustrates that she doesn't know how things work. The more Beto and Buttigeig open their moths the lower their approval ratings go. Warren may end up being the "least bad" option at the Democrat convention, plus she'll appeal to the "wouldn't it be cool to have a female president" crowd (some of whom also belonged to the "wouldn't it be cool to have a black president" voting block). But her way of explaining previous lies and inconsistency with current philosophy (e.g., complains about cost of college but took a large salary to teach a course, not to mention the fake Native American thing) energizes the people that already like her but turns off the people in the middle who will decide the election. For the people unimpressed by any of the choices, Trump will probably again be the "least bad" option.

Plus, some people think he's great. Getting China to reduce their tariffs on US goods to nearly the level we charge them should work, along with making them respect intellectual property laws. That offering to buy Greenland, though, is pretty weird.
