Johnson et al. looked at changes in the ice mass of the Glacier Bay area in Alaska. They found that over the period 1995-2011 the loss averaged 4 Gt per year. In comparison, from 1770 to 1948 the average was 17.8 Gt/yr, a rate 4.5x larger.
