Government Agencies the CIA, FBI, NSA, DIA, as well as Law Enforcement Agencies have that capability as do people trained by those agencies as well.

Wow. One of your posts I'm almost tempted to rec. Its true that if someone (or some agency) is knowledgeable and determined enough, they can probably figure out who you are. I started to write as much after I saw Ginko100's post on Thursday; but abandoned it when I decided I was too busy to bother.

My main point at the time was that I think people are often too paranoid - or perhaps I think they are just paranoid about the wrong things. This leads them to a false sense of security because they're ignorant of or choose to ignore the serious risks they're already taking.

For example, I'd tend to be more comfortable telling a stranger I was in credit card debt (I pay mine off each month) or how much I make than I would be handing them a debit card for a payment. Most people seem to see it the other way around.
