The President of Afghanistan wants U. S. Special Forces to leave Maidan Wardak Province which is a strong staging area for the Taliban on the capital of Afghanistan because the Afghan forces working along side the Americans have been torturing and killing innocent villagers.

This fits the stories from the past American interventions, for example in Helmand province locals residents have been complaining of corruption and lawlessness.

MARJAH, Afghanistan — Nearly three years after U.S.-led forces launched the biggest operation of the war to clear insurgents, foster economic growth and set a model for the rest of Afghanistan, angry residents of Helmand province say they are too afraid to go out after dark because of marauding bands of thieves.
And during the day, they say corrupt police and government officials bully them into paying bribes. After 11 years of war, many here long for a return of the Taliban. They say that under the Taliban, who routinely punished thieves by cutting off a hand, they were at least safe from crime and corruption...

"If you had a box of cash on your head, you could go to the farthest part of Marjah and no one would takeit from you, even at night" ...

"Today you bring your motorcycle in front of your shop and it will be gone. Now the situation is that you go on the road and they are standing in police and army uniform with weapons and they can take your money."

If Bush hadn't invaded Afghanistan, Iraq per the 9/11 calling card, would the underlying culture of rape, torture, oppression and violence still be acted out?

If we see this type of "behavior" widespread among the region with these "cultures" and religion, then what is the root cause...other than Boooosh of course?

How is it that many years of Obama, Hillary knowing just what to do and how to do it and such have not had ANY kind of positive impact. At least Bush got them some purple fingers.

Duped into think that American Military Intervention Outcomes are a function of political party control or ideology.
Duped again by political preconceptions, as is the usual response on the PA.

As if the consistent outcomes from American Military Intervention of the past 120 years has something to do with political controls over the Military. Whether it’s the Philippines, or Vietnam, or Afghanistan, U.S. Intervention leaves behind similar results.
