Nice post.

1st of all, I want to clarify where I am coming from.

Yes, I consider myself a Conservative, which to me, is not a synonym for "Republican". I agree with you that gov't is into too many things, many of which are against the law.

In 1992, AND 1996 Presidential Cycles, I did not support the major party candidates. In 1994, i did support the Repub takeobver of Congress for one simple reason: Dems had it for 40 years, and the results were embarassing.

Actually, I agree with the Libertarian platform on some issues. I enjoy watching Harry Browne speak. He says "BOTH parties will take us to hell, the only difference is that Repubs will do it slower." I tend to agree, and therefore prefer Repubs being in power.

Unfortunatly, on some issues, Repubs are scared of their own shadow, and the Liberal media has become a champion at demonizing Conservatives, IF they stand up for their beliefs.

That brings us to today. I did, and do support W. I feel he is an honest man, and contrary to belief, I feel he is rather clever. If he does lower taxes, make it easier to create jobs, and uses the bully pulpit to reflect honesty instead of slime, I feel it would be a good 8 years.
