I know the headline saying they are merging, in reality KRG is buying RPAI, but RPAI shareholders will own 60% of the post-merger shares. We often don't evaluate our sales. When few years back, I wanted to add strip REIT's, initially I added RPAI, KIM, BRX, etc. Quickly I realized RPAI is not a stock I want to own and I swapped out into BRX. A better decision. On the other hand, I have very fond memories of RPAI preferred's. I bought them heavily, hoping for a redemption, which they did.
If you can't be smart, sometimes you can be lucky.I sold my KRG based solely on valuation versus my perception of fundaments. No way I saw this merger coming.
