Hi.

Well I said I was not going to declare bankruptcy. I paid off one of my cards back in February. I was making fairly large payments to another card. I paid my 6 month insurance premium. However, everything has changed.

I'm unemployed.

I get one more paycheck at the end of July. I paid rent and utilities this month and got some food too. I've already deferred my student loans. I am slowly paying back the 403b loan I borrowed from myself.

But that's it. I am not paying any of my credit cards. It is going to get ugly very very fast.

A couple of questions:
1. Can I file for unemployment now, or do I have to wait until I get my last paycheck?

2. I plan on calling my CCs (on their due dates) that I have no job and will be unable to make payments. Should I close those accounts NOW before I am unable to pay? I plan on calling them to tell them I will be unable to pay. Will calling them help if I have the ability to settle later? (Like they give a rat's rectum! LOL)

3. I still do not want to declare bankruptcy. Should I keep one card open and up to date? Should I keep the Chase Visa open and let the other three (all Citi's) die on the vine?

4. Anyone know where the hell I can get a job?
