Sorry about asking, but today's article made me wonder:

What would happen if you ran Apple through the Rule Maker requirements? Apple is a funny company, because it is a minority in the PC world, but a monopoly in its own world (Macs).

I suspect that given the recent numbers coming out of Apple, you might be surprised. I would want to see the RM scoreboard for each of their last 4 quarters. I bet you'd see a clear trend, as their inventory turnover has technically gone to more turns than Dell, and their margins have crested over 28%.

I'd actually love to see Dell, Compaq, Gateway, and Apple compared on an RM basis.

This also might indicate a means to refine the RM philosophy - after all, if Apple came out positive on the RM scope, many would see that as a "false-positive"
