I've seen a pic of a PVC niddy noddy, so I think I know what you're talking about (someone is selling them on ebay!)

Will home depot cut it into the pieces I want? I don't have a saw or anything.

This sounds like a good way to start. It won't do if I go back to doing SCA stuff, though. Medieval recreation group, they get snippy about that; I'll need a wood one if I go back.

But, the PVC sounds great to start.

How full do you let the spindle get before taking it off the spindle?
