Let me respond as to the way I see this board going. I'll also preface this by saying that as I mentioned in an early post, this board will be what everyone decides to make it, good or bad.

My idea was just that it is more fun to talk about the reasons why you seek early retirement, rather that the actual mechanics behind it. Obviously, to ignore the mechanics would be silly, but sometimes it seems as though we are making money for the sake of making money without expressing the underlying motivation. And why shouldn't you?

So, thats why I recommended this board. I want to see what all you happy investors want to do with all your fortunes. I want to see lots of happy Fools gainfully unemployed. And you DON'T have to like Jimmy Buffett's music, but you DO have to like Jimmy's approach to life.

As to restricting categories, I'm open to it. I was kind of hoping this board would lend itself to such a boat drink-like feel that those restrictions wouldn't be necessary. If you and others think they are, it doesn't bother me in the least.

You are very welcome on this board. We need mentors, like you, who have reached their early retirement goals to explain how they did it to newbies like me who just want to open a bar in a warm climate.

Hope to see you and Bouna Fortuna,

Gekko II
