It's coming down to crunch time.

Recently America has see-sawed between Left and Right and depending on the year taxes have gone up or down a few points, funding has been up or down for this or that, and the band plays on.

Trouble is America is now in a transformational times and not guaranteed in a good way.

*In past hard times, America was the strongest and only kid on the block. NOT this time. Emerging world markets are learning industry, warfare, and able to challenge America.

*The world is learning to cope and go on with a non America centric world.

*America, the 200 year old baby on the block is NOW feeling eternal effects of dwindling resources, overpopulation, balkanization of people, structural corrution in government and business.

For these reasons there is NO room for error anymore that is why I declare that more than ever, TODAY is when Right and Left needs to send extremes to the brig. TODAY is when Right and Left understand each other the LEAST, yet need each other the MOST.

America's BEST comes when both sides have raging debate, but then find consensus. On immigration, taxes, deficits, debts, education we NEED both sides to set us up right for the coming century.

Finally, here's why we need both sides: AUSTERITY is coming to America, big time. Not starvation, but a lower standard of living than what Americans are used to. To prevent DESTRUCTION, painful things will have to be done like Ross Perot predicted in 1992. Taxes will go UP for most of us. The Gov't will have to shrink it's workforce, and governments will trim pensions. Programs will be cut, even painful programs that will hurt seniors and even kids. It's going to have to be fair shared sacrifice on all our parts.....Hispanic and White, $40k earner and millionarre alike.

And if we're trying to one-up the other side all the time, we'll NEVER cross this bridge without burning it. Left NEEDS Right to ensure that capitalism, individualism, and free enterprise is preserved in America. Right NEEDS Left to make sure that those same things don't go too far, and also that our weakest citizens and those with temporary bad fortunes don't suffer to the tune of the poor people we see in India or China or Haiti.

Sure, we may have short term recoveries and that's fun for us all.

But long term, the axe is coming there's no way around it other than armageddon and then a starting over...something we all would rather avvoid.
