After receiving the titles to my vehicles, each came with a letter recommending that I have a lien-free title issued in my name alone.

This is not something that I ever did with any of my previous vehicles after receiving the title. After looking at the website of the DMV, there is a $65 fee to have a new title issued. Is it worth $130 to have two lien-free titles issued?

The only reason that I ask is because this is not something I ever recall doing with a vehicle and have never encountered any issues as a result. What is the consensus from my fellow Fools?
