Yes a crook, though possibly of the letter of the law variety.

Local media,like too much local media, is enthusiastic about anything that might be good news for growth and there is not a single reporter with as much investigative reporting skill in their whole body as I or 90% of the people I know on this board have in our little fingers—"Gee Mr. Developer, spin us, please." Trying lots of angles to little effect. Of course, should worse come to pass and the whole thing blow up, we'll get the "nobody could have known" line.

Anyway, thanks Joel. I didn't think a well-capitalized developer would end up with liens, at least not on a regular basis, but couldn't find anything with a simple google search, so thought I'd seek a second opinion.
