Hats off to Pixy! His letter regarding living wills should be required reading for everyone. I could write a book about all the horror stories I have gone through with clients AFTER it was too late to do anything. If you have any assets, whether you are young or old, you need a power of attorney. Everyone should have a living will (a real misnomer) or as I refer to it, a "pull the plug" document coupled with a health care proxy. Finally, if you have any significant assets OR minor children you need a will or a will substitute such as a revocable trust. Suppose you have little in the way of assets, but you do have minor children, why do you need a will? Well, it might be a good idea to let someone know who your choice was to be the guardian(s) of your minor children.

Pixy - Take a bow!
