What do you think? Did AA renege? Did he cheat too much?

My take on your question is: There was some questionable activity on his part. But on the other hand, AA completely mishandled it. They could have discussed their issues with him and most likely could have worked out a resolution. It seems apparent to me they were looking for an excuse to terminate these money losing passes and they exploited the situation to their benefit.
