Longhorn makes some good points and as far as Boeing is concerned, being in the government contracting world as I am, let me tell you two words about Boeing, "CASH MACHINE". Seriously, while the commercial air segment of Boeing might be cyclical, it is balanced out well by their government services operations which coincidentially benefit from a weak economy becuase the government tends to spend more, this helps offset lags in their commercial business. BTW, they are also just plain good at what they do and have virtually no competition since they split the market with Airbus and neither can do it alone with the current level of worldwide demand.
