...about franchising. I have been thinking about opening an ice cream stand in my area as a first business venture. I know of a couple interesting franchises, but I am not real familiar with all the jargon and terms I see listed. I'd lie to get some basic info and go from there.

Also, as an aside, what do you guys think about on-line business courses? I went to culinary school and graduated, but never looked much into the business side of food. If I decided not to go with a franchise (and maybe even if I did) I'd like to take some small business courses to familiarize myself with the financial side of things. My time is a bit stretched right now, though, with a one-year old and another on the way soon, so I was thinking if business courses online wouldn't be the right way to go. I appreciate any and all replies..
