Hey TrendFriend,

I saw on another post you said you can beat the market with a 130/30 weighting...

i don't have much experience so I was hoping you could clarify what that means?

 

Off the top of my head I can only think you're referring to using 30% margin for leverage?

Hey Sams5940,

 

this strategy is becoming popular and mostly used by hedge fund managers.

The simple idea is that your portfolio should consist of 30% short positions.

 

The study after a lot of benchmarks have shown that 130/30 portfolios better constructed then just long-only portfolios.

Thanks for the insight, and as you touched on, that strategy is definitely important for CAPS
