<at some point, Medicare for All has to move beyond a slogan and explain how the government will simply do away with the multi-billion-dollar private insurance business, force doctors to change how and how much they are paid, legislate drug prices and institute cost controls for all medical services to keep the system from going broke (you need all this: that’s how it works in other countries), and, of course, explain how to fund it.>

One does not need a particularly long memory to recall how derisive dems and their media bretheren were in lockstep mocking and criticizing Sara Palin when she spoke of death panels. It was screamed loudly every single day with intense condescension.

Yet in addition to all you describe, there are other things that will turn off all but the most die hard socialists. In other high profile places with government run healthcare you pay through the nose in high taxes on your salary and huge added taxes on everything you purchase. For all that cost, you get to have incredibly long waiting times, lack of new equipment and non approvals for needed treatments and surgeries. If time is of the essence, a ten month wait to see a specialist is commonplace. After that, there are additional waits for further tests or or to begin a course of treatment.

Recently, we hear about seniors denied cataract surgery because they are above the allowed treatment age. They are deemed too old to waste any of the systems valuable resources on. A number of people will die from delayed or denied treatments. That is not an unfortunate occurrence. It is all part of the plan. IOW, that is how it is supposed to work.

So, why in the world would you not call those whose job is to delay and deny treatments death panels? I can't think of a term that comes close to describing it better.
