So powder cocaine was not an epidemic? It is a shame how blatantly racist that law was. The addiction were same, just one type of addiction was criminalized and that allowed arresting colored people and it became a self fulfilling...>>

Blame the nooz media for that. You ought to recall the daily stories reporting the crack baby epidemic among the poor and African American.

The media created the fear and panic which produced the law, and they picked the African American community as the center of the crack baby epidemic.

So African Americans were among the population buying into the fear and the need for drastic laws to curb the proliferation of crack.

The Congress came up with harsh sentences and mandatory sentencing. And that was apparently successful in curbing the problem. No crack babies in the noooz these days, are there?

And I want to thank Bill Clinton, "Americas first African American President," for signing those laws.

Out of respect for Bill's accomplishments as President, his wife became the nominee of the Democrats for President in 2016.
