If technical corrections were out there as a separate bill, I'd be concerned about it getting lost in the shuffle. But it's part of the IRS restructuring bill, which includes the Taxpayer Bill of Rights 3, and that's a major legislative priority for both parties at this point. The only thing I see that might derail this is disagreement between the House and Senate over the scope of some of the restructuring provisions. But there's always the possibility of a last minute political maneuver, too. It's just possible Republicans will add something at the last minute as veto bait so they can say Clinton blocked the bill that would have protected taxpayer rights. No sign of that at this point though, just idle speculation on my part. My guess is the Republicans think they're better off trumpeting what they just enacted than they would be complaining about what Clinton just vetoed.
