<<I have now eliminated all my CC debt. The only non-mortgage debt I have is my car.

I've been snowballing my former CC payments onto my car payments, and I'll have it paid off by early next year.

I have this strange euphoria doing this; I have set myself to pay everything online, and I just absolutely LOVE logging on to see how far I have left to go to pay it off, and adding a little bit more to the payment on my car.

It's just downright FUN to logon and pay this bill off!

Has anyone else had this same experience?

One of the things I strive to do is to maintain control over the things that give me pleasure. I don't want advertisers and fashion mongers controlling the things I find pleasurable and the things I want and desire. Nor do I want my friends, neighbors or relatives to have that kind of control with comments or expectations.

By contrast, I can take pleasure in things I find worthwhile, even when they are things I'm interested in and most other people would find trivial or useless. For example, I'm about to go refill the washing machine with water from my rain barrels. I use very little citiwater. I regard this primarily as a hobby rather than a serious way of saving money.

So my experience is that a determined person can gain control over their own schedules of reinforcement if they wish to do so. Your relatives and neighbors might decide you are a little odd if you do this, though.
