<<Our city also has an affordable housing problem and a very liberal gov't, so I expect SFHs to be eliminated as well. It's also a college town so illegal basement apartments are already ignored by the city. I rather welcome them making it official, since we bought our current house with the idea that it would make a great rental if we chose to move elsewhere, (and the numbers to back it up in addition to the idea.) The numbers would be even better as a duplex.

The rental house I've owned since 1987 could be torn down and rebuilt as a six plex, as has happened to many neighboring properties. However, I imagine the family that has been growing up there the past hald dozen years is glad to have a single family residence to live in ----an increasingly scarce commodity as single family homes in Seattle have been disappearing for a couple of decades.

This is on Delridge Way in West Seattle.
