<<Some depressing news for those following global warming. The current issue of Forbes (3 July 2006) has an article on the Chinese coal industry, and there was this paragraph:

China burned 1.9 billion metric tons of coal in 2004. By 2020, predicts the China Coal Industry Development Research Center, it will burn 2.9 billion tonnes a year. That increment alone will send as much carbon dioxide into the atmosphere as 3 billion Ford Expeditions, each driven 15,000 miles a year.

Let us always remember that it was Al;Gore's fabled Kyoto treaty which gave China the green light for it's stupendous increase in coal consumption.

Plus, of course, he never even bothered submitting "his" treaty to the US Senate for ratification.
