That's a tough one Fluff!

Actually I've found that if you add overcooked and dry meat to a batch of beans when you first start cooking it, that the meat will tender up quite nicely.

My hunter friends will give me their venison ribs to put in pinto beans. Normally too tough to eat, they become tender and quite delicious after cooking in beans for several hours...

Maybe you can tell that to the cafeteria when you present them with the bill for having to have your jaw wired? ;-)
