I don't know as much as the rest of you about the details of the auto industry, so I will speak strictly as an average taxpayer.

I don't want my tax money going to support a failing business model, which will suck up the money the government throws at it, without creating a profitable business, then inevitably needing more and more. If the managers knew how to create a profitable business, they would not have been losing billions of dollars a quarter for years. I don't want to throw my money into that black hole.

I don't want my tax money going to support workers who make more money and have better benefits than I do.

I don't want my tax money going to support the executives who ran these companies into the ground, and who still make outrageous salaries.
