I'd like to thank TMF Taxes
for the information on mark-to-market election they provided. I filed my tax return for the year 2000 as a trader and deducted all my losses, which far exceeded the $3000 limit. And it worked: I got a huge tax refund this year. Of course, it remains to be seen if my return will be audited during the next three years, but right now I'm busy putting the refund back into stocks!
