I will be switching to Medicare next August and am starting to explore choices. I take one pretty cheap drug. When I look at the plans, I would be paying way more than the street price to cover it. I know the expectation is that I would take more drugs as I age but I am active. BP is normal and I won't be taking statins(Mayo heart attack risk is <5% in 10 years).

Should I end up with cancer, would it be the drug plan that covered chemo ?

(I think there's a penalty if I don't sign up at the first opportunity but I have been paying a fortune for high premium, high deductible health insurance for the past 7 years and was looking forward to a reduction in those costs)

I don't think I want an advantage plan because I will continue to travel for the foreseeable future.
