Hi everyone, I do not have diabetes, but I do have a question that I hope you could help me with. Recently I have been diagnosed with PCOS and my blood work shows that I am insulin resistant and at high risk for getting diabetes. To read an more about my situation check out this post:

In addition to attempting a LC diet, my doctors want me to try taking (get ready, I'll probably mispell this) Metaformin as a way to loose some weight and get my hormones regulated. They say this is medicine that is typically used to tread diabetes so before agreeing to try this I wanted to check here and get some opinions. Does anyone have personal expereience with this drug? Are there side effects I should be aware of? Basically I feel like it is worth a try to see what (if anything) it can do for me. Any guidance would be appreciated.
