I hesitate to say too much here as I am less familiar with mens gymnastics (meaning I watch it a lot, but never, being female, participated). But there are some observations I can contribute:

1. I still hate Al Trautwig. The list of outright stupid comments he's made is endless.

2. Artemev is really, really stellar on pommel horse. Really.

3. Is it just me or do the men look a little less polished than the women, by and large?

4. Poor Sean Townsend. I don't know what he did or to whom, but he placed 5th at Nationals and still wasn't chosen for the 6 man, 2 alternate World's team. I'm pretty sure this has something to do with picking event specialists, or at least people who placed higher on some events even if they did poorly on others, instead of going with all arounds. But still.

5. Gooooo Stanford! (I'm including Dave Durante even if he's graduated.)

6. I was really, really rooting for Alvarez to have a clean meet. That would have been cool. OTOH, even with the fall on the very last skill in the whole competition for him, the placements would have been the same.
