I've recently come across a distant cousin of my DW's, who had posted a PAF file, complete with the GEDCOM download button!

I've on a Mac, long ago used PAF, but switched to the more flexible Reunion a few years back, haven't spent a lot of time with it, trying to just keep up with recent additions, changes.. ...

So the next project when I get a full day to play is to merge my existing main file, 1600 entries, with this new file, also about the same size... they have my family in their's, but no recent info..

I can get to the new, now saved in Reunion's format, easily, as well as my own, but would like to have just one larger file...

I know I need to work with copies of the originals, but I'm wondering where to make the linkage.. or will Reunion sort that out?

I've posted this ar the ReunionTalk support site, lots of folks have read it, but so far no replies in about a month now..

Anyway, have you done merges like this, in other software? What to watch for? Other tools?

Thanks.. weco
