Subject:  Divdends? Yeild of 293.3 Date:  9/16/1999  1:17 AM

I have a few foolish questions:
How do dividends work?
Can I own stock a week before dividends are paid and get the same dividends as the long-term share holders?
How can a stock have a yield of 293.3?
With a Yield such you're paid a lot of money just to own the stock????- This puzzles me!
How can I find out a previous years stock yield for a certain stock?

Any fool that can help me with this, I thank greatly
