Because there are now more than one registrar, you have to do whois as a two-step process.



Then, from the answer you get from that, take the whois server and tack it onto the whois request:


This will give you the full result. Note that you can't just do this to begin with, as you may need to use or
some other whois server.

Note: some whois commands need a different syntax, do a 'man whois' to find the proper syntax if this does not work for you
(the whois host may need to be added with some -option instead of an @-sign).
