Look back at how they did during the double digit inflation years of the late 1970's and earely 1980's. As I recall it wasn't pretty.

Harry Browne's Permanent Portfolio has a 25% allocation to Gold and has performed extraordinarily well over the past 40 years.

But I'd be cautious about a 25% allocation to Long-term Treasury Bonds with interest rates at historic lows.

I bought SLW recently. IMHO at this point silver is a better choice than gold.

i bought some SLV late last year and it's been very good to me

i also like Silver better than Gold ... think there's less chance of emotional bubble on Silver*









* but that's just me, and i could be wrong.
