When a percentage gain or loss for a mutual fund is quoted, does that quote figure in the expenses of the fund. If Vang. Health Care Fund quotes a 15% gain, does that quote include the expenses of running the fund or do the expenses need to be deducted from the 15%?
The quoted performance is after expenses have been taken out.
But usually before loads are paid.If it matters, safest is to look up the share price at the start of the year and the close of the year, add in any distributions, and make the calculation for yourself.
Mutual Funds always quote performance after or net of expenses.
