Missash noted that DDR had announced its intent to increase div's by 9.3% in 2006 - and asked it this was something new.
This is not new for DDR. They did the same thing in their Q3-04 CC - anouncing at that time $2.16 in anticipated div/share for 2005 [a pace of div's they have already reached] and a $3.15 - $3.25 FFO for 2005 [the current consensus is $3.22].
While almost all the REITs which I follow do not do this early a pre-anouncement, several reveal their intentions in their Q4 [February-March] conference calls. This is not THAT rare of an event. In MLP world, the practice is fairly common.
