Usually plenty to be seen about my house in my area of Brooklyn - some regulars doing mating leaps off chimneys and other high points, and hanging out in trees in front and rear. This year, not seeing any.

Anyone heard of any issues with them this year?

I googled and hit on the Audubon site....listened to the call to refresh my memory....I hear them around here...

Perhaps, somebody has used insecticide around you....lawn care folks or other.

Brooklyn...hmmm, that is curious....could be people are using deterrents of some sorts or psychos are shooting them.

Juvenile males are famous for their loud singing often before dawn. That's the noise that people object to.

The bird itself is sleek looking (but more often heard than seen).
