As a parent, you don't always fully understand the impact that you have on your kids, for good or ill. I have always been a libertarian/conservative guy during her entire lifetime.

When she was a teenager I bought her a copy of Atlas Shrugged. She never read it, but asked me what it was about. We discussed it. She told me that that one trace discussion out of the hundreds we've had over the years always stuck with her.

So far those of you with kids still at home always remember that you are in the teaching/leadership business 24/7.

For those of you whose kids have left the nest and are floundering, just pray that they've retained a little of what you shared with them along the way. You never know when the light will come on.
