The answer to this may be here somewhere but I can't find it. Can a single child have more than one 529 plan? I have decided that I would like to open a 529 plan for my daughter in my state, she has a prior one (started back before our state one was any good) that is College Sure CDs. To transfer the plan from the CDs there is a penalty that we would pay for early withdrawal of the CDs. So, can I open a new 529 for her in my state?

Thanks in advance,

forbajato
