Most credit cards do have PINs, but it is more likely that the request was for the billing zipcode. I destroyed the PINs for my credit cards.

Credit card PINs allow cash advances to be taken from ATMs. The fees are ridiculous. One of my credit cards is close in appearance to my ATM card. I have accidently attempted to use it instead of my ATM card. The mistake was obvious when the first message was a warning about fees. I didn't make it to the point of not knowing the PIN.
