I am negotiating a physician contract for myself with a potential employer. She's offered to pay $3,000 toward my moving expenses, and of course, I know moving expenses are tax deductible.

Is it to my advantage to have her reimburse me for these expenses right after I move, or simply have her add $3,000 to my yearly salary while I pay (and deduct) all my own moving expenses? Does it actually make any difference?

Any input is greatly appreciated.
